A Home to Call Our Own

We built it together. From making our first small gifts, to our first
100 vase order for AtlantiCare, to thousands of ornaments, and large corporate
installations. Our women met every challenge with a can-do spirit that carried us along
the path. There were, of course, some rocky patches, but we kept working through
them, pushing past the weight of our worries and uncertainty of life. Together, we helped
each other to stay focused on the positive, be in the present, and find joy in crafting
beautiful work.
After almost 3 years of meetings, planning, fundraising, (and “yes” a lot of praying!),
MudGirls Studios has a new home. On July 14, 2026 community leaders, supporters,
volunteers, and staff gathered in front of 2709 Arctic Ave for a celebratory ribbon cutting
ceremony. Advisory Board Member Michelle McDonald served as our MC, with Andrew
Lawrence Deputy Chief of the Atlantic City Police Department, CRDA Executive
Director Eric Scheffler, Devco Senior Vice President Sarah Clarke, and Atlantic City
Mayor Marty Small offering inspiring words of congratulations and warm wishes. All
were invited into our studio to see firsthand the result of the community’s support where
every individual’s potential is nourished and celebrated. We have created a dedicated
workplace that is safe, supportive, and inclusive, where everyone has opportunity to
succeed.
MudGirls continues its primary mission to help women in need through workforce
development and employment. But so much more is being planned! Nestled in the
neighborhood with storefront accessibility we have already hosted Atlantic City Youth
Services, a senior conference for Stockton University and a Clay Connection event.
Ceramics workshops are beginning to take shape and we will be offering classes in the
hours that our MG team is not hard at work. You will soon find our events listings on our
website at mudgirlsstudios.org
We are excited to share our space, knowledge, and love of clay with all of you! Our
neighbors have already been popping in to see the new addition to their block and kids
are pressing their noses to the windows eager to see what awaits inside!
We are overjoyed with the outpouring of support from all of you! So many people have
embraced MudGirls with their love, care, and expertise. We are beyond grateful.
Thank you for walking with us on this journey.
